One of the most popular places to pick up Grand Theft Auto VI when it releases, should you want the physical box, will be Smyths. And shortly after midnight, Smyths started to stock both Xbox and PS5 versions of the game.
For PlayStation 5 gamers and Xbox gamers €79.99 will secure you a launch day copy of the game. But remember, the box itself will only contain a download code. Messaging on the Smyths website is also a little confusing. While it states they are expecting stock on the 19th November, collection will be possible from the 12th. This is due to allow for early downloads and installs ahead of the November 19th launch date.
Some additional terms include confirmation that the box “will only contain a download code inside the box to support pre-load starting on November 12. A disc will not be included in the box”.
Also worth noting that “the PlayStation 5 version can only be used by users holding an account for PlayStation® registered to the Republic of Ireland”. Which does make me wonder what would happen if you moved country, so I’ll ask someone that.
As of right now, just the €79.99 copy of the game is available but this could change by morning. Some speculate that it may be as simple as buying this copy and upgrading in your consoles store for a €20 feel
But the big news right now is that you can part with hard earned cash for GTA VI for the first time ever.
