Trump Media & Technology Group has begun public beta testing of Truth Search AI, an AI‑driven search feature on the browser version of Truth Social, powered by Perplexity AI. We’ve previously reported on Perplexity as a free benefit for Revolut customers. Truth Search AI uses Perplexity’s Sonar API to deliver summarised, cited answers to user queries. However, unlike Perplexity’s wider search platform, Truth Search AI appears to source responses primarily from conservative‑leaning outlets such as Fox News, Breitbart, Newsmax, The Washington Times, and The Epoch Times.
Further scrutiny of the partnership has raised concerns due to Perplexity’s past legal disputes. The company faces allegations of scraping content without authorisation, including using stealth crawlers that ignore websites’ robots.txt directives, and multiple copyright infringement lawsuits from major publishers like Dow Jones, the New York Times, and the BBC.
