AIB’s app is reportedly down for some customers

This helps keep the lights on

Back in June, AIB announced it would be launching a new app experience for customers. Unfortunately, that new experience hasn’t been overly positive. With lost features and access generally speaking leaving customers a little miffed. Today, the iOS version of the app has been reported to be down too.

Is the AIB app down?

Uptime tracking website Downtector currently shows the AIB app as potentially having issues, based on reports by users.

Whether or not this is a complete outage or not is unknown, or if all users are affected. Some have reported it just to be an iOS issue due to an updated last night. This is adding to the iOS issues backlog given some customers with genuine iPhones have been unable to use the phone due to an erroneous “Jailbreak” warning, which AIB states could be due to other apps on the phone.

Other customers have reported that some app functionality is coming back. For example, some can now see balances but not transaction data. I wouldn’t set your face to panic just yet as I’m sure it’s all still there, but just some of the wiring connecting everything has to be relocated.

AIB has confirmed that they “experienced a brief issue affecting some services within [their] Mobile Banking app early this morning. The issue has been resolved and services are operating as normal. [They] apologise for any inconvenience caused”.
