All ten SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division clubs are back in EA Sports FC 27, which launches worldwide today. It marks 20 consecutive seasons of the League of Ireland top flight in EA’s football series, going all the way back to its debut in September 2007.
Every Premier Division club and its domestic players are fully licensed, so you can take your local side into a Kick-Off match or a Career Mode save. EA is also bringing back free downloadable club covers for all ten clubs, which means your copy can sit on the shelf in your own team’s colours rather than a global superstar’s.
Which League of Ireland clubs are in EA Sports FC 27?
The ten clubs are Bohemians, Derry City, Drogheda United, Dundalk, Galway United, Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne, Sligo Rovers, St Patrick’s Athletic and Waterford. That lines up with the 2026 Premier Division, so Dundalk return to the game’s roster after being promoted as champions from the First Division last year, while Cork City drop out following relegation to the First Division.
The League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division doesn’t appear in EA’s list of licensed women’s leagues for FC 27, which covers the Barclays Women’s Super League, NWSL, Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, Liga F Moeve and Arkema Première Ligue.
What else is new in EAFC 27?
Beyond the Irish licence, the headline addition is The Grounds, a new social mode where you create your own avatar and explore a freely walkable game world. Ultimate Team gets a new FUT Gallery, and there’s the usual round of gameplay changes across all modes.
EA puts the overall roster at more than 21,000 players from 800-plus clubs and national teams, spread across 35-plus leagues and 130-plus stadiums. Those are EA’s own counts, but the big licences are all present, including the Premier League, LALIGA, Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
EA Sports FC 27 price and availability in Ireland
FC 27 is out on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The Standard Edition carries an RRP of €79.99 on PlayStation and Xbox in Ireland, with €69.99 on PC and Nintendo, though Irish retailers may undercut that. Players can also try EA Sports FC 27 Lite, a free-to-download limited preview of the game available on launch day.
